Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas

Today is the handmade gift exchange at my Wednesday morning mommy group. Here are the things I wish I had made, unfortunately [insert good excuse here because I don't have one].  However, I am TOTALLY making all of these for Christmas because they are inexpensive and don’t require special skills like sewing. In other words, my three year-old can make them so hopefully I can, too. :)

Monogrammed Tote

Okay, I loooove this tote. It’s just right as a carryall, informal diaper bag, book knapsack or reusable grocery bag. If anyone wants to make me one I won’t stop you! Email me and I’ll send you my addy. Kidding kidding. The instructions are here.

Rejuvenating Soaks, Scrubs and Shaves

Forget pricey mass-produced goop, Herb Mother has the real deal on personal care that will nourish your body {and soul} with wholesome, natural ingredients. Oh right, we are talking about gifts to give away. In that case, make a double batch and reward yourself for your thoughtfulness by taking some time in the bathroom ALONE (if you’re a mother you know what I mean!).

Christmas Ornaments

Kid-friendly craft alert! Spread some holiday cheer as you and your little ones create these elegant homespun ornaments. Simple supplies like water balloons, white glue, wax paper and yarn are all you need to get started.

A boxed set would be perfect for grandparents or a favorite teacher. Or keep them yourself. Your kids will have the gift of a cherished memory and you’ll get the keepsake.

These are my favorite handmade gift ideas so far. What would you add/change/omit?

Oh wow, that is really cute! Kinda out of my league since it requires planning and such, but an awesome idea!

The Christmas ornaments look so fun!! I couldn’t find a link – I have 3 boys and I am under the weather, though, so I could be missing it…

Thanks for posting the link about making bath scrubs- I have always wanted to do that! When I’m not buried in yarn, I’m totally going to make myself a birthday/Christmas gift and then proceed to lock myself in the bathroom. =)
