Guess what? Whole Foods sells real cultured foods! Real fermented pickles, sauerkraut, miso and more! They’re not in the condiment aisle with the boring vinegar-brine pickles. Nope . . . they’re right next to the dairy section in their own little case. Thank you Dr. Cindy . . . I had no idea!
This is a HUGE deal to me since I have had to cut back on the number of “science experiments” I have sitting on the counter while our house is on the market. Awhile back I was showing our house to a single mom. When she opened my kitchen cabinet out burst the pungent smell of two large jars of fermenting kombucha. “We like to make our own special tea,” I say as nonchalantly as possible. “Like moonshine?” she asked. Um yeah, kinda freaks people out.
