Typical Tuesday
If you’re local to the DFW and interested in joining a veggie co-op, I highly recommend Monica Brown’s. As a mommy of five, she is VERY passionate about the quality of what she puts on her table and it shows! I love the produce we get from her. There is a lot of standard stuff (lettuce, tomatoes, apples, oranges, etc.) with a few things mixed in that I’ve never tried before. (Like mizula, a delicious asian green that I’d never heard of before Monica sent some home along with a delicious wilted green salad recipe.)
Every other Tuesday is co-op day in our house. This is how it looks when everything arrives. Boxes are produce and paper bags are dry goods like figs, dates, spelt, whole wheat, sucanat, etc.
Katie loves to load everything into the (very clean) sink to be washed.
We order an extra share, which means we have veggies drying on all available flat kitchen surfaces. Occasionally we need the coffee table, too. I love those weeks!

Dear Jesus, please look at these pictures and bless us with a new house that has a much larger kitchen. Thanks.

We had to make some budgetary cutbacks, but we were on her co-op for about a year and it was awesome. She is definitely serious about everything being high quality and fresh.

Wow, Charles. Small world : – ) I knew you were in NRH but had no idea you were connected with the co-op. If you ever want to get back in for a half share I may have a friend that will split it with you.
Joanna Moore

Joanna – Monica does offer a trial run before committing to a membership. You should definitely give it a try. Congrats on the house. That’s so exciting!
