Ahhh, Valentines Is Here!
You know what I love about today? It’s like a burst of kefir soda pop that sprays us all with a little extra light and sweetness. A thoughtful compliment, a thorough zerberting of all bellies under 10, and an extra glass of [insert your fave drink here] and BAM! Extra warm, gooey, February love. That’s what I think, anyway.
Katie and I are gonna get going with the doilies, glitter and about 35 layers of Elmer’s glue in just a sec, but first we have a humble homemade valentine for you. Well, not all of you because Katie refused to lick that many stamps. But I do have two jars of homemade lotion all-packed up and ready to go.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your family! Although we are not GAPsters, we do eat real food. I made my family crepes with real butter and eggs from a local farm, and filled them with homemade “nutella”. So delicious!

How sweet! Love reading your blog. Happy Valentine’s Day to you all too! I have a question, since I’m leaving a comment — since having my 2nd baby 3 months ago, I’ve discovered I’ve developed a sensitivity to eggs – a food I’ve loved ALL my life. I’m aware and pretty familiar with GAPS, but as I’m nursing I’m not sure if this is the right way to go right now (I know I could do full GAPS while nursing), but I’m just wondering if there’s another way to get over this egg sensitivity. What do you think?? I also noticed that I think he might have eczema on his arms. I’ve never dealt with this before so I’m just trying to figure out how to proceed {calmly}. Thanks for any advice!
Meghan, I feel your pain. My four month old has sensitivities to ALL dairy and grains. She gets horrible rashes on her bottom along with the allergy circle on her bottom and shes screams in pain for days…sometimes a week if I sneak any in. I’m also breastfeeding and well, sorry to say I think we have to suffer through it. Atleast the intro diet is only thirty days and then you can start to introduce the other foods back. It has been working so well for Maddie with her allergies. Just keep on plugging along with the diet and realize it isn’t forever. You have a whole group of people here to support you and vent to. Good Luck…
I’m not qualified to give dietary or medical advice, but as a mom I’d say full GAPS is your best bet (avoiding eggs, of course, which would be hard!). Healing will be slower since you can’t do intro, but drinking lots and LOTS of broth can help a lot with healing. People often skip that part of full GAPS
If you decide to do it LMK. I have a friend who can’t eat eggs because of her daughter’s eczema (she’s nursing). I could probably get some good recipe recommendations for you.

Your lotion recipe looks wonderful. I would be so happy to win. We’ve been on the GAPS Diet for almost six months, and I am still trying to find new shampoos, lotions, etc. You have a terrific site!
