Yesterday I . . .

on August 29 | in Our Family | by | with 13 Comments

Woke up crying. Here is my puffy face:

Agreed to do a cooking demonstration at a local birth center next Thursday night . . . just one day shy of my due date. I felt a little anxious about it so I decided to meditate. You can see how that went.

Discussed my birth plan with a woman while standing underneath a sloth.

Ran to catch a train . . . and missed it. My husband wishes he had video. I understand, I am 39 weeks pregnant!

Watched as Daddypotamus singlehandedly broke the Dallas Aquarium’s elevator. It refused to reopen when he stuck his hand in, so he pried it open and broke it.You should have seen the look on his face when he saw a crowd of women with strollers trying to get to the third floor.

Drank coffee and ate semi-toxic food in a restaurant. I can’t remember how long it’s been!

Found out that KellyMom shared my guest post on Facebook!

Fell in love with my little Katiepotamus all over again.

Went to bed smiling. It was an amazing time with my two favorite people. It may be our last big outing as a trio and we loved every minute (except for the train part and the time that Daniel helped Katie use the restroom outdoors).

One, YOU LOOK AMAZING!!!! Like…BEYOND amazing for 39.23897 weeks!
Two, think me silly…but you should come to yoga on Monday! Seriously, it’s my one hour a week “you-better-let-mama-have-this-or-she’s-gonna-go-crazy” time to myself and I love it. It might be my favorite thing about pregnancy [you know...other than the whole miraculous growing a human inside you thing...]
Tres, That last picture is absolutely gorgeous.

I’m THRILLED you got that day yesterday :]

Hi I love the idea of healthy organic based diets. I have lost 20 lbs. and 5% body fat in 3 months! Is there a place that lists local restaurants like Kozy that feature quality local foods? I want to eat good healthy food and be a locavore. I also think you look great and wish you all the best.

Hi Shane! I believe this is your first time commenting and I just want to say welcome! Congrats on your weight loss. Regarding restaurants, I am in the process of reviewing DFW restaurants that feature local, organic and pasture-raised ingredients. Check under the Local Stuff tab in the top right corner for what I’ve reviewed so far. Also, if you’ll email me your address I’ll send you any nearby yones I know about that I haven’t reviewed yet.

        Thank You Heather!
        I feel at home already!
I found a diet plan on the internet callled the diet solution and it has helped me make a lifestyle change. I don’t think or feel like I’m on a diet because I’m eating plenty of good healthy food. I live in Plano and I saw your review of the Grazing Cow and definitely will be giving that a try. I look forward to learning more about what’s available out here in far north dallas/ Plano. I also read Animal,Vegetable, Miracle and found it to be inspirational.

Beautiful pictures! Looks like you had a great day trip! Got me thinking how much I’d love to get out and do something. Michael and I realized recently we hadn’t been anywhere together off the farm since we first tilled the garden back in February! Anyway, you all look wonderful!

I’m so glad you took the time to have a “special adventure” as we call them and just BE with your family. And Mae is right, you look fabulous!

  5. What a beautiful Mommypotamus you are! I just posted some of my pregnancy pictures on my “about me” page and it made me miss being pregnant. I was 9 months and 2 days pregnant a year ago. My due date came and went. I cried a lot those last days. When I was 3 days past my due date, I decided to just enjoy life until my baby decided to come. I stayed up ALL night watching fun movies and eating organic ice cream. I went to bed at 3 am. I woke up at 4 am, which was when my water broke!!! Haha, that what I get. Baby was born 4 hours later =).

Hope you get lots of rest this week. I look forward to seeing babypotamus’ picture real soon!

    I’ll be praying for you!
